A further 69 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Leeds over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 5,090.
Across Yorkshire, 288 new cases have been recorded, with Leeds and Bradford seeing the biggest increase.
Sheffield and North Yorkshire also saw jumps in their figures with 31 and 28 new cases respectively.
Meanwhile, eight more people have tested positive in Hull, five in Doncaster and one in York.
While it is important to note that an increase in the number of cases recorded could be down to the amount of tests being carried out, the government has voiced concern about the rise in infection rates.
Because of the huge rise nationally, people will be banned from meeting in groups of more than six from September 14, with some exemptions in place.
People are urged to follow social distancing guidelines, wash their hands regularly and wear a face covering if possible to help stop the spread of the virus.
