Leeds power cut: hundreds of homes without power

Hundreds of homes in Leeds were left without electricity due to a power cut in the early hours of Friday morning.

In a tweet at 12.40am, Northern Powergrid said the outtage was affecting 481 properties in the LS9 and LS10 areas. "We currently estimate power will be back on by 2am.

"For this type of powercut we normally restore power to 90% of our customers in about 90 minutes."

Northern Powergrid said it would keep customers updated via Twitter if the repairs took longer than 90 minutes.
