Leeds Rhinos player ratings as Rob Lui and Brad Dwyer shine in Castleford Tigers defeat

Richie Myler: Safe under the high ball but struggled to have a say in attack with Castleford Tigers limiting his impact, one late break aside. 6

Tom Briscoe: Failed to back himself early on as he spurned a glorious opportunity and it was that kind of night for the winger. 5

Konrad Hurrell: Looked up for it early on with a huge hit on Niall Evalds and he got Leeds Rhinos going at 14-0 with a typically rampaging run, but then showed the other side of his game by failing to put any pressure on Greg Eden for Jordan Turner’s crucial try. 6.5

Harry Newman: Put Ash Handley over for his try but was otherwise well shackled by the Tigers defence. 6

Ash Handley: Underlined his class with an acrobatic finish when he had no right to score and worked hard out of backfield. 6

Liam Sutcliffe: Bombed a good chance in the first half and that was his only involvement of note before going off at half-time with a knee issue. 5

Rob Lui: Tried to set the tone early on with a massive shot on Oliver Holmes and was Leeds’ biggest threat in attack, scoring a deserved try to get the Rhinos back in it. 7.5

King Vuniyayawa: Got a start in the absence of Mikolaj Oledzki and Matt Prior but saw his night cut short by a head injury. 6

Kruise Leeming: A busy performance from Leeming who moved into the halves in the second half but nothing came off for him. 6

Bodene Thompson: Took the fight to the Tigers from the off but Leeds struggled without their two big guns. 6

James Donaldson: Put his body on the line without making a real dent in the Castleford line. 6

Rhyse Martin: His howler gifted the Tigers the opening try and then he kicked out on the full to give the Tigers field position for their second. 5

Zane Tetevano: Tried hard all night and one of the few Leeds middles to cause Castleford problems. 7

Bench

Tom Holroyd: Some good hit-ups from the youngster as he continues to look at home at Super League level. 6

Brad Dwyer: Added energy and urgency off the bench as he so often does, pulling off a superb try-saving tackle before scoring late on. 7.5

Morgan Gannon: Came on in the closing stages and showed some nice touches. 6

Cameron Smith: Got his hands on the ball as much as anybody in a Leeds shirt and got through plenty of work. 7
