Leeds people hate being cuddled - according to survey

We've all got our own favourite place on the sofa, but a recent survey has revealed that us Leeds folks really aren't fans of cuddles at all.

Instead of sitting next to our partners, we seemingly prefer our own space when we settle down to watch a bit of TV.

In fact, a whopping 70 per cent of us apparently prefer to sit in completely separate chairs rather than snuggling up - which means we're the second-least cuddly city in the entire country.

Sofa and carpet specialist ScS quizzed more than 2,000 people and the results showed that we're far less friendly than others.

More than half of people in London (51 per cent) prefer curling up together on the sofa, while couples in Norwich (48 per cent) and Oxford (47 per cent) are also touchy-feely.

Sitting apart isn't necessarily a sign of hating one another though.

Body language expert and psychologist, Dr Georgina Barnett, said: "Generally we find this position [sitting on different sofas] in a long-term relationship and it does not necessarily indicate any problems, but rather a couple that has grown used to each other over the years."
