Leeds owner rules out move for Manchester United winger Daniel James

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has ruled out a summer move for Manchester United winger Daniel James.

The Yorkshire side had been weighing up a possible deal to sign the Wales international before deadline day but now look like they will turn their attentions elsewhere.

MEN Sport revealed earlier in the week Leeds managing director Angus Kinnear attended United's Carabao Cup win at Luton, where James was an unused substitute.

The Wales international started 35 times for United last season, only seven players lined up more often, but United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer completely dropped James from a Premier League squad for the first time against Brighton last weekend.

James was always expected to resist a departure from United having only signed last summer and the 22-year-old remains the most obvious back-up option should any of the preferred front three need a rest.

The Welsh winger was pictured arriving for United training on Saturday morning ahead of the Premier League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur and looks like he'll be staying at the club given the latest noise from Leeds.

Speaking about the United forward Radrizzani admitted James is on top of their transfer wish list but claimed his side won't be making a move for him this summer.

“Dan [James] is on top of our list but seems he will be staying at Man Utd," the Leeds owner told Stretty News.

“There is nothing.”
