Leeds New Year's Day weather forecast with temperatures set to plummet

It's predicted to be a chilly start to 2020 in Leeds, with temperatures feeling like 0°C on the dawn of a new decade in Leeds.

It's going to be a foggy night across Yorkshire, with the Met Office issuing a yellow weather warning about potentially hazardous travelling conditions.

As the clock strikes midnight, The Weather Channel reckons it will be 3°C outside - but it will feel a couple of degrees colder than that due to a slight breeze.

By the time people across the city are waking up with a pounding headache after too much bubbly, it will feel as though it is 0°C, with a real temperature of 1°C.

It's not going to get much warmer than that throughout the day, with temperatures peaking at 5°C.

Thursday, January 2 will be much better though, with highs of 11°C forecast along with outbreaks of sunshine.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be slightly cooler, but it will still bring highs of 7°C.

And whisper it quietly, but there is no rain forecast whatsoever until Monday, January 6.
