Leeds Met Office snow warning with forecast for 10 hours of severe weather

The Met Office has issued a new snow and ice warning covering parts of Leeds for later this week.

People in Leeds got a dumping of snow last night and woke up to a yellow weather warning for ice.

Now, the national forecaster has warned more severe weather its on its way for Friday.

A yellow warning for snow and ice comes into effect from midnight on Thursday and lasts until 10am on Friday.

It covers parts of South Leeds, including Morley, Gildersome and Tingley.

The warning reads: "Frequent sleet and snow showers may lead to some difficult driving conditions and disruption to travel on Friday morning."
