The night will be overcast but dry. Temperatures could drop to 13C.

Met Office meteorologist Marco Petagna said: "As we head into Monday, we see a mixture of sunshine and showers across the UK, even some showers moving into the south-east as we go through the day but the heaviest, most-widespread showers likely to affect the south-east of Scotland and north-eastern parts of England. Here they could turn heavy and thundery in the afternoon."

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday

Generally dry with light winds through this period. Some spells of sunshine in the morning but rather cloudy, bright in the afternoon, with perhaps an isolated shower. Temperatures around average.
