Leeds men tried to raid lorry full of chocolate while driver was fast asleep

Two men from Leeds have been arrested after a lorry full of chocolate was raided while the driver was asleep.

The driver parked his lorry on the M180 near Scawby and was sleeping at around 2am on Monday, August 19 when he was woken up by a noise coming from his trailer.

He then spotted two men loading chocolate onto another truck and called the police.

Officers from Humberside Police arrived on the scene, chased the men on foot and managed to catch two.

A police spokesman said: "The men who are both from Leeds are currently in our custody on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle.

"We’re still looking for a third man in connection with this.

"The items, which were destined for delivery to a high street store, were returned."
