Leeds man killed in horror A63 lorry crash named

The identity of a Leeds man who sadly died following a collision with a HGV has been revealed.

Steve Moore, 72, died at the scene of the collision on December 2 on the A63, Selby Road, in Micklefield.

The passenger in the car, a 70-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries in the collision and was rushed to hospital.

Police said at the time that her injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

Today (Saturday) police have identified Mr Moore and announced that their investigations continue.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police are in a position to identify a man who was killed in a road traffic collision on the A63, Selby Road, in Micklefield, Leeds, earlier this month.

"Steve Moore, aged 72, from the Rothwell area, died at the scene of the collision which happened at around 2:20pm on December 2 2021 when the black Ford Kuga he was travelling in was in collision with a white and red heavy goods vehicle.

"Police continue to investigate the collision and would ask that anyone who witnessed or may have dashcam footage of the incident, or the circumstances leading up to it, to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team, by calling 101, or online via online via www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101livechat and quote Log 0809 of 2/12."
