Leeds man Daniel Rozycki robbed security guard carrying cash then set fire to Qashqai

A man who robbed a security guard as they collected cash from a shop in Leeds has been locked up for more than a decade.

Daniel Rozycki targeted a security guard as they transported money from the McColl’s convenience store in Broadgate Lane, Horsforth, at around 12.15pm on Friday, January 17, 2020.

Moments after the robbery, the 31-year-old set fire to a Nissan Qashqai and the burnt out car was found nearby in Regent Court, Horsforth.

Rozycki stood trial at Leeds Crown Court and was convicted by a jury on Tuesday of robbery, arson and possession of an article with a blade or point.

Rozycki, of Glensdale Road, was also convicted of a further charge of burglary.

A judge sentenced him to 10 years and six months in prison.
