Leeds hospitals issue third warning in four days over 'very busy' A&E departments

The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has issued its third warning in four days about its’ A&E departments.

The NHS trust said the emergency departments in Leeds General Infirmary and St James’ hospital were ‘very busy’ in a statement shared on social media today, June 7.

It read: “Our Emergency Departments are very busy at the moment so if you're feeling unwell call NHS 111 instead of going to A&E.

And on Friday, June 4, another warning had been shared on Facebook about the emergency departments.

It urged patients to call NHS 111 if they were feeling unwell but it wasn’t an emergency.

Similarly, two weeks ago, the trust issued a warning about the emergency departments at both hospitals.

It said that they had become extremely busy with much larger numbers of patients presenting than usual.
