Leeds hospitals go 11 days without recording a new coronavirus death

Hospitals in Leeds have now gone 11 days without recording a new coronavirus death.

The latest data, published by the NHS, showed neither Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust had a patient die from the virus during the past 24 hours.

It means the district's death toll since the start if the outbreak still stands at 340.

No patient has died in any Yorkshire hospital for the past 48 hours. The region's death toll is 2,589.

Nationally, three more Covid-related deaths have been recorded by NHS Trusts. They were in London, the North West and the South East.

A spokesman for the NHS said: "A further three people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 29,500.

"The patients were between 73 and 87 years old and all had known underlying health conditions.

"Their families have been informed."
