Leeds heatwave over as weather forecast for Wednesday much cooler

The weather is set to cool across Leeds tomorrow as the recent extreme heat warnings come to an end.

Leeds will start the day at 25 degrees celsius, but this will quickly drop throughout the early morning to 20 degrees at 7am. This will increase throughout the day to midday when temperatures will reach 24 degrees.

Over the afternoon, from 3pm, the temperature will again drop reaching 21 degrees by 6pm. This will continue to decrease as the evening moves into the night.

There is also a 30-40% chance of rain in the city throughout the day. This is most likely at around 1pm-3pm.

The Met Office has said: “Likely a sunny morning, and whilst less hot than Tuesday, it will still become hot in the east. Increasing amounts of cloud later with a chance of heavy showers. Maximum temperature 29 °C.”

Temperatures will continue to drop until Friday when they reach 20 degrees. Over the weekend they will increase again to 26 degrees on Sunday.

According to the long term forecast, from July 24 to August 2, there may be rain across the northwest until it begins to move southeast through northern England. Later on in this period settled conditions are expected to return with temperatures expected to remain above average.

Into August, the picture is murkier. The Met Office says: “Into the beginning of August confidence is low, with more changeable conditions possible, but still a lot of dry weather at times. Temperatures perhaps slightly above average, but nothing exceptional for the time of year.”
