Leeds George Ezra concert under threat after singer falls 'incredibly unwell'

The George Ezra concert in Leeds is under threat after the star has fallen "incredibly unwell".

The 'Budapest' singer was forced to cancel his upcoming performance at O2 Arena on Tuesday, March 14. Doctors confirmed the singer has actute vertigo - the sensation that you, or the environment around you, is moving or spinning, according to the NHS.

George is due to perform at Leeds First Direct Arena on Thursday, March 16. It is not know whether his performance will go ahead yet or not.

A statement shared on social media reads: "Hi everyone, unfortunately George has started feeling incredibly unwell this afternoon. He's been diagnosed by a doctor as having acute vertigo and as a result we sincerely regret to announce that tonight's show at the O2 in London will not be able to go ahead as planned."

"We wanted to let you know as soon as possible. Ticket holders, all tickets remain valid and please bear with us as we reschedule the show - we're very sorry for everyone who has travelled for tonight."

As George's health diagnosis from a doctor was confirmed by his representatives, fans rushed to send the singer-songwriter, 29, love and wish him a speedy recovery following his health battle being revealed. Julie Pickford said: "So sorry you are ill. We had a five hour driver to not see you but we will be back. It can't be helped and a lesson for my teenager that life isn't always smooth."

Mabel Rokesby added: "All that matters is George's health, I hope he's okay, keep him hydrated, I estimate improvements from his Brazilian fan number 1!" Isabel Malyska said: "I hope he gets better soon. Get well soon, health comes first."

Laura said: "Gutted. Here now. Wishing you a speedy recovery." Dr Samantha Pugh added: "Get well soon George. Take care."

George embarked on his latest tour last month, with it promoting his third studio album Gold Rush Kid which topped the charts following its released in June last year. The tour - which shares its name with the album title - has already seen him perform at various venues in Europe, including gigs in Berlin, Prague, Amsterdam and Paris.

George has been supported by fellow singer-songwriter Passenger on the tour, which is scheduled to visit the First Direct Arena in Leeds on Thursday (March 16).
