Leeds flood warnings with 30 in place and city told to 'act now'

More flooding is expected across Leeds today (Monday) after river levels rose rapidly due to Storm Franklin.

The city has been battered by heavy rain, snow and winds over the weekend which has caused flooding that caused the River Aire in Kirkstall to burst its banks.

A yellow weather warning for wind remains in place covering the city but rain is not forecast.

However, some areas are still at risk of flooding, the Environment Agency has said flooding is expected with 30 warnings issued across the city - people have been told to act now to safeguard property and keep safe.

They added that 12 flood alerts have also been issued.

According to the website, a number of the warnings were upgraded overnight and an update is due to be issued later this morning.
