Flood warnings still in place in Leeds for River Aire and River Wharfe

There are still 28 flood warnings and 13 flood alerts currently active in Leeds and West Yorkshire, as the region continues to be hit by high winds and gushing rain.

Torrential downpours caused travel chaos yesterday (Sunday), with roads flooded as rivers burst their banks.

14 flood warnings now in place are for the River Aire, in parts of Leeds including Kirkstall, Hunslet and Leeds city centre. This means "flooding is expected" and that "immediate action is required".

Another 13 areas have flood alerts - this means flooding "is possible" and people are advised to "be prepared".
