Leeds Festival set to deliver 'biggest day in Yorkshire’s musical history'

Yorkshire is set for its biggest day in its musical history when Arctic Monkeys and Bring Me The Horizon headline Leeds Festival 2022, according to the event’s boss.

Thousands are currently at Bramham Park enjoying the Leeds Festival 2022 fun. Melvin Benn, managing director of Festival Republic, who oversee Leeds Festival and its sister event Reading Festival is greatly looking forward to Sunday’s bill-toppers.

Sheffield’s Arctic Monkeys and Bring Me The Horizon will close this year’s festival by headlining the site’s two main stages. Something Melvin believes will be a real musical moment.

“It is impossible for me not to be talking about the Arctics and Bring Me as I’m a Yorkshire lad,” he proudly said. “I would say it is definitely the biggest day in Yorkshire’s musical history.

“Two Yorkshire bands headlining a Yorkshire festival - it is never going to get better than that. It is unbelievable.”

The festival boss is delighted to see the journey the two acts have been on. He said: “It is a delight to see it. It is not really anything to do with me. It is to do with the bands. They are the ones getting on stage, getting fans to believe in them and convincing me to believe in them.”
