Leeds Festival headliner Liam Gallagher slams supporters of his beloved Manchester City

Leeds Festival headliner Liam Gallagher has taken aim at the fans of his beloved Manchester City.

Oasis legend Gallagher, 47, who will be headlining the closing night of fun at Bramham Park this summer, absolutely loves his football.

City added yet another trophy to their recent haul yesterday thanks to their 2-1 win over Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.

Although, you sense Gallagher's longing for the days when City weren’t quite as successful. The outspoken star is disappointed in the matchday experience at the Blues' Etihad home.

“I don’t go and watch them anymore. I don’t really like the Etihad. I don’t dig it man, it’s like going and watching the fucking opera,” he told the NME.

“The last time I seen City I got told to be quiet by some f**king donut who was too busy looking at his menu.

“I was jumping up and down and he went, ‘Can you be f**king quiet?’ It must have been interfering, like messing with his brain; he didn’t know whether to have the prawns or the f**king caviar.”

Previously Gallagher has spoken about his fondness for Leeds United and how much he’d like to see them back in the Premier League.

The opinionated figure has recently teamed up with a controversial former Leeds United footballer for his latest music video.

Eric Cantona, who memorably crossed the Pennines to move to Manchester United from Leeds, takes the starring role in Gallagher’s promo video for song Once.

Gallagher said Cantona didn’t want to be paid for his time. While, the Oasis icon didn’t see any problem with teaming up with someone who once played for City rivals Manchester United and Leeds United.

“Cantona’s a star, he’s a rock ’n’ roll footballer.

“I like his madness. And, I don’t give a s**t whether City fans don’t like it or if there’s a few of them whinging that probably weren’t even f**king born to know who he f**king even is. So kiss my a**e."

As you can see, Gallagher is becoming shy and retiring as he gets a little older.

We’ll expect some interesting audience interaction when he plays Leeds Festival 2020.

Other headliners this year are Stormzy and Rage Against The Machine.
