Leeds Festival bans cash for 2021 - with a few notable exceptions

The hotly-anticipated Leeds Festival at Bramham Park will be cashless this year, it has been announced.

Organisers of the event and the sister festival in Reading, told revellers of the change today, August 16.

In a post on social media it said: "All food, drinks/beverage (including ice creams) will be cashless.

"For other purchases (e.g. merchandise, market traders), cashless payments are preferred (payment by card)."

In addition, a number of rules and measures are in place to protect festival-goers and staff working on site.

Details of things that aren’t allowed at the event include unauthorised buses, coaches or trucks on site or the burning of plastics, bedding, tents, furniture, etc. You can read the full list here.

Those aged 11 or over will also be asked to provide their Covid-19 status to allow them to safely enter the festival ground.

The festival will be taking place between August 27 and 29. Some of the headliner acts include Liam Gallagher, Stormzy, Post Malone and Disclosure amongst others.
