Leeds Festival 2022 - the best and worst rated food at this year's event

While festival goers head to Leeds Festival this year were likely most looking forward to the music, the ongoing party means many get hungry for a bite to eat quickly

Luckily, at the festival there are always a huge variety of eateries to choose from for a meal or snack. From Italian, American, Chinese, Japanese, traditional British, and more, the options are endless.

But with so much choice it can be difficult to decide which festival food treats to go for. We've done the hard work for you and our reporters have been trying a number of the eateries at the festival.

Below is what we thought of several dishes and what rated each one out of ten.

Breakfast butty

On Thursday as campers arrived at the festival we tried a bacon and sausage sandwich at a trailer in yellow camp - just before the entrance way.

Lucy Marshall tried the breakfast treat and said: "It was really delicious, packed with flavour, and the bread was super soft.

"I'd also like to add that a brother and sister working on this stall are super friendly and welcome - great service. My only criticism of this dish was the price."

The breakfast butty cost £9. This festival food was rated as 8/10.

Noodles

There are plenty of Asian cuisine spots to choose from at the festival, so we decided to see what was on offer. Another spot just before the arena entrance, Wok One, serves a variety a noddle dishes.

Customers can accompany fish, meat, or vegetable noodles with black bean sauce, sweet chilli, curry, satay, hot chilli. We tried the beef and black bean, as well as 'Special Noodles' with sweet chilli - with vegetables, chicken, and beef.

Dishes come with noodles or chips. Prices range from £10 to £12 for meat dishes.

Lucy Marshall said: "I tried the special noodles for £14 as well as some spring rolls totalling up to £18. Although the meal was expensive it was super delicious and packed full of flavour.

"They noodles were also super filling." The Wok One dish was rated 9/10.

Loaded Fries

'The Northern one' - chips, beans, and cheese from Loaded Fries. This spot was super busy with queues.

The venue is located just before the main entrance to the arena. Loaded Fries sells dishes ranging between £8 and £12. They are mostly fries topped up with different meats.

Lucy Marshall said: "I was super hungry so the loaded fries were perfect to fill me up. The beans weren't the best I have tasted, but the cheese complimented them and the chips nicely.

"It was a nice dish but wouldn't say it was ground breaking. I'd rate this dish 7/10."

Greek food

Reporter Megan Banner tried a Greek gyros at Cheeki Greeki in Leeds Festival's Street Feast area - a hidden hideaway filled with food and drink spots. The review dubbed her meal 6/10.

She said: "I am probably going to rate it 6/10 compared to some of the other food we've tried here. There's lots of different options. This hasn't been my favourite I must say."

Chicken and chips

Leeds Live's what's on editor Craig Jones said: ""I grabbed southern fried chicken strips and fries from the stall based in the hospitality camping area. Coming in at £11 I know people will have some concerns but, in fairness, I was full before finishing. Although, I have my eye on a curry from the Indian stall for my next meal."

Lucy Marshall also tried the chicken strips and said: "I was in need of a quick bite so these were perfect for that. The chicken strips were delicious, however the chips were a little undercooked for my liking.

"They were nice but I wouldn't rush back to have them again." This spot was rate 6/10.
