Leeds Festival has offered clues to who will be headlining in 2022.
Now this year’s event is over attention has quickly turned to plans for the next event.
Firstly, it has been confirmed we’ll have the return of the bumper line up of six headliners in 2022. This has been confirmed by Leeds Festival boss Melvin Benn.

He told the NME we can see six huge headliners at Leeds and its sister event in Reading.
Melvin said: “It wasn’t a covid measure, it was something I’ve been doing with Lollapalooza in Berlin. I liked the way it works so I wanted to give it a go.

“It gives us the chance to present six headliners. That’s better for the fans. We wouldn’t have room for all those acts if the other stage had been in a tent because they’re too big to play it.
"For me, it’s absolutely fantastic and having six headliners is better for the fans.”
This year’s headliners included Liam Gallagher, Stormzy, Post Malone, Biffy Clyro, Disclosure and Catfish and The Bottlemen.
Rumours are suggesting Billie Eilish might be one of the acts topping the bill in 2022.
Pressed on what we can expect, Melvin said: “I can tell you that three of the six headliners are in place, and I can tell you how happy I am about it. I can’t tell you who they are, but we’re going to announce them and it will be very special.
“Reading and Leeds are key and important festivals, they’re both bigger than Wembley Stadium. You get the chance to play for huge crowds.”
Melvin further teased ‘some of them have guitars’ which inevitably prompts thoughts of Sheffield legends Arctic Monkeys - who are expected to return with new music in the coming months.
Melvin concluded: “Arctic Monkeys are a law unto themselves and when they decide next to play live is beyond me, if I’m honest.”
