Leeds families wake up to mysterious Christmas trees left on doorsteps

Families in Harehills are trying to figure out who has randomly left Christmas trees outside their houses overnight.

On Christmas Eve, residents awoke to find over a dozen wrapped trees had been left outside houses on Berkeley Terrace, Berkeley Mount and Seaforth Road.

The mysterious drop offs have sparked a lot of speculation, as some think a kind-hearted person has been handing them out, while a few believe they may have been dumped by a business that couldn't sell them.

Nicola Darcy said: "It was around 10am I noticed them.

"I was taking my little one to the doctors and on our way home we stopped at my grandma's and saw the tree in the garden.

"We then then noticed a few more houses on the street had them and when we got to my house, my other half said he had seen a few lined up outside the houses further down the street."

"Personally, I think someone has not been able to sell them and has decided to leave them on doorsteps instead of getting rid of them.

"I suppose it could be a mix of both though - trying to get rid of them but also gifting them to people. If anyone doesn't have one they could collect one of them that isn't needed."
