Leeds face fight to keep key staff member after failed promotion bid

Leeds face a fight to hold on to talent spotter Craig Dean following their failed promotion bid.

A number of Premier League and rival Championship clubs are tracking the Elland Road Head of Emerging Talent.

Dean was brought to the club in October 2017 to work with Director of Football Victor Orta targeting rising stars for the future.

He has since enhanced his glowing reputation for identifying exciting young talent.

Dean was instrumental in recruiting Tyler Roberts from West Brom for £2.5million in January last year with the 20-year-old Wales forward now worth substantially more.

Dean also tried to persuade Marcelo Bielsa to buy Swansea winger Daniel James in January - only for the club to fail where Manchester United are set to succeed.

New development makes Marcelo Bielsa's future at Leeds clearer

Dean is now in the spotlight with uncertainty surrounding the futures of Bielsa and his coaching staff following their Championship play-off defeat to Derby this week. Keeping him at the club will be a priority for the club as they look to regroup and bounce back.

Leeds Under 23s won the Professional Development League and have made an impact at first team level.
