Here are your Leeds United evening headlines for Friday, September 11.
Radebe hits back at traditional Leeds stereotype
Leeds United legend Lucas Radebe believes that the club have removed their ‘dirty Leeds’ tag ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
The Whites make their top flight return against Liverpool tomorrow evening and Radebe has hit back at the suggestion that Bielsa has created a dirty side.
He told BBC Radio 5Live : “There's no more dirty Leeds anymore, I don't think we deserve that.
"With the class that we have at the moment, Marcelo Bielsa has come in with his own style.
"A different manager, he's turned things around at the club.
"Those players that looked ordinary, he's turned them into Premier League players.
"They play such great football, a great formation and I think we'll see them being consistent in winning games.”
Bielsa puts pen to paper on one-year deal
Leeds have confirmed that Bielsa will remain at the club after signing a one-year deal at Elland Road.
When quizzed on his future in yesterday’s press conference, the Argentine confirmed that he would be staying put for at least the upcoming season.
Being asked about his contract at the club just two days before the start of the season may not be the most conventional way of doing things, but Bielsa himself said that his contract situation isn’t of great importance.
"There is nothing of importance. I have been working at 100 per cent since the celebration of promotion were finished,” he said .
"Like in every negotiation, nothing is done until it’s actually done."
Leeds ‘lead the race’ to sign £25million midfielder
The Whites are reportedly leading the race in their pursuit of Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis.
According to Tutto Mercato, both Leeds and Fulham are interested in signing the midfielder who is believed to be keen on a move to the Premier League.
With AC Milan also linked with Luis, the Whites could face competition to sign the midfielder who is rated at around £25million.
However, the report also states that Leeds have the best chance of signing him given the player’s desire to play in English football.
