Leeds drink-driver found with two-year-old in car at 11pm at night

A driver from Leeds who was twice the legal drink-drive limit was caught with a two-year-old child in their car.

West Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Unit stopped the driver in Jack Lane, Hunslet, at around 11pm last night.

A breathalyser test showed the driver was not just over the limit, but was twice the legal limit.

And police then discovered they had a two-year-old in the car with them, putting the child at risk too.

The driver was arrested at the scene for being dangerously over the limit.

And police said that, while it is "never acceptable", having a child in the car made the offense even worse.

In a Tweet, the force said: "Jack Lane, Hunslet, Leeds - Driver stopped and was twice the legal drink drive limit.

"It’s never acceptable, but to make it worse, there was a two year old child in the car.

"Driver arrested."

The news, which was posted on Twitter, was met with requests to 'name and shame' the driver.

And one commenter said: "Social services referral for inadequate parenting?"
