Leeds confirm who will take charge vs Manchester United after sacking Jesse Marsch

Leeds United have announced that Michael Skubala, Paco Gallardo and Chris Armas will take charge of the side for the upcoming clash against Manchester United following the sacking of Jesse Marsch.

Marsch was dismissed following the Whites' 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Sunday, with the Yorkshire club having not won in the Premier League since early November. Leeds are currently 17th in the league table and have only won four of their 20 top-flight matches this season, with six draws and 10 defeats.

The Whites played United at Old Trafford on Wednesday and again at Elland Road on Sunday - and the club have confirmed that they will not have a manager in place for the first clash against Erik ten Hag's side.

Skubala, Gallardo and Armas will take training ahead of the match, with the former also taking on the club's media duties, starting with the pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

Armas - who joined the backroom staff at Leeds in January - was part of Ralf Rangnick's coaching staff at Old Trafford last season, before leaving the club at the end of the campaign.

Leeds announced that the trio would be taking charge on a temporary basis on Monday evening, stating: "Following the announcement of the departure of head coach Jesse Marsch earlier today, Leeds United can confirm Michael Skubala, Paco Gallardo and Chris Armas will take training at Thorp Arch on Tuesday and will be in the dugout for Wednesday’s Premier League fixture against Manchester United at Old Trafford."

United secured a 4-2 victory over Leeds when the two sides last met in February 2022.
