Leeds United have confirmed that they are re-turfing their pitch at Elland Road ready for the visit of Everton in February.
Carlo Ancelotti's side are facing an important week at Goodison Park, with three matches in the space of seven days to see if they can continue their flying start to the 2020/21 term.
The next time the Blues are on their travels will be to face Marcelo Bielsa's squad on February 3rd, where they will be looking to get revenge for a 1-0 defeat to Leeds in the reverse fixture.
And, following the effects of recent weather in the region, Leeds have confirmed that they will be laying a hybrid pitch at Elland Road in time for Everton's visit.
A complete pitch reconstruction is then due to take place at the ground in May.
Leeds United Head of Facilities Mark Broadley said: “We have been working closely with Hewitt Sportsturf on a proposal to fully reconstruct the Elland Road pitch this summer.
“However, after the recent heavy rainfall and snow in Leeds, it became evident that the current system was unable to cope and as a result was struggling to retain sufficient stability in the top surface.

“We reviewed all options available and agreed the best possible solution was to remove the top surface and install the hybrid turf system HT Pro as seen at Tottenham Hotspur and Swansea City.”
These works will see the current pitch at the stadium removed over the weekend, with the hybrid turf installed early next week.
