Leeds Central General Election 2019 result

The General Election 2019 has seen voters in the Leeds Central ward decide who they want to be the next MP for their area.

The ballot boxes are in for Leeds Central from areas including Leeds city centre, Beeston, Holbeck, Middleton, Belle Isle, and Burmantofts.

Six candidates have campaigned for your votes over the last few weeks in this General Election campaign, Labour candidate Hilary Benn has emerged as the winner.

In 2017, Leeds Central had the second lowest voter turnout in the country, however, there were queues of people waiting to get in a polling stations earlier last night.

The exit poll, revealed at 10pm last night (Thursday), predicted a landslide victory for Boris Johnson and the Conservatives. Historically this has been accurate, but nothing is guaranteed.

The results for Leeds Central are expected from between 2.30am and 5am this morning (Friday) and you can follow live coverage via our dedicated blog.
