Activists from across Leeds will be lobbying their MPs to call for greater action on climate change this weekend.
The lobbies are part of the Big Climate Connection, a co-ordinated campaign which will see hundreds of local people lobbying their MP across the country.
The groups will be pressing their MP to push for strong measures to be included in the forthcoming Energy Bill, such as improving energy efficiency in UK homes and reducing carbon pollution from power stations.
They will also be calling on the UK to take a lead in the upcoming climate talks in Cancun, Mexico by ensuring more finance is made available for developing countries to adapt to the effects of climate change, develop low carbon economies and protect forests.
Lobbies in Leeds include:
The presentation of a giant handkerchief bearing the slogan 'Fabian Don't Forget' to Fabian Hamilton, MP for Leeds North East
A question and answer session with Rachel Reeves, MP for Leeds West, hosted by Christian Aid Yorkshire
A meeting between Greg Mulholland MP for Leeds North West, CAFOD, Friends of the Earth, local students and other concerned voters

Richard Whitmill, 24 from Kirkstall, who is attending one of the lobbies said:
"With a recession on, people in Leeds are struggling to pay their energy bills. The government has to do far more to help people insulate their homes to cut fuels bills at the same time as helping the environment."
Joe Burns, 55, from Ireland Wood, added:
"As a member of a local CAFOD group I am very concerned about the impact of climate change on the world's poorest communities. The UK has a moral duty and legal duty to ensure that millions of people who already live in poverty are not further damaged and disadvantaged by the impacts of climate change."
Leeds MPs made commitments on climate change in the run-up to the election.
