Leeds bus station closed following stabbing

Leeds City Bus Station is currently closed following a stabbing incident this morning.

Police are warning the station may be closed beyond the rush hour. Commuters are asked to try to catch their buses from the next stop on their route or use alternative transport.

Officers were called to the bus station at around 11.30am following a report of a 20-year-old woman having been stabbed inside the station. She has been taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

A 20-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident, and enquiries into the incident are being carried out by City and Holbeck CID.

A police spokesperson said:


"These enquiries include a detailed forensic examination of the scene of the incident within the bus station. As a result, the bus station will be closed temporarily while this is carried out."
