Leeds boy smacked in face with 'baseball bat' as he waited for a bus in Seacroft

A teenage boy was seriously injured after he was hit in the face with a 'baseball bat or similar weapon'.

The 15-year-old was at a bus stop on Kentmere Avenue, Seacroft, near the junction with Ramshead Hill at around 6.30pm on Thursday, December 9.

He was approached by a man or boy who hit him in the face with a 'baseball bat or similar weapon' causing a deep cut to his cheek.

The victim was taken to hospital where his wound was stitched up.

Det Insp Guy Shackleton, of Leeds District CID, said: “The victim has received a significant injury to his face in what appears to be a completely unprovoked attack.

“We are carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation.”
