Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa tipped for future Tottenham job despite Nuno Espirito Santo arrival

Former Tottenham winger Jamie O'Hara has suggested that he would like to see Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa installed at the club despite Nuno Espirito Santo’s arrival.

The Portuguese was appointed as Jose Mourinho’s permanent successor and is currently in the midst of preparing his squad for the 2021/22 campaign.

That has not stopped former Spurs man O’Hara from suggesting that Leeds boss Bielsa would be a fantastic fit in north London following his work at Elland Road.

However, the 34-year-old did highlight that he could not see such a move during the current regime at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: "He needs to be at a big club Bielsa, doesn't he? He needs to be at a club like Barcelona, let's be honest.

"Spurs are a bigger club than Leeds... it would be a step up. Jose Mourinho's not going to go and be Leeds manager, is he?

"I'm not saying Leeds aren't a big club and I'm not saying Bielsa needs to leave, I'm saying he should be at a club like Barcelona. He's a great manager and Leeds are very lucky to have him.

"I'd love him at Spurs but he's never going to leave Leeds to go to Spurs. Not enough ambition at Spurs.

Bielsa has certainly enjoyed a big impact with Leeds since his arrival in 2018. He led the Whites into the play-offs in his first season in charge, before securing the Championship title during the 2019/20 campaign.

That rise continued last season as Leeds finished ninth in their first season back in the Premier League.
