Leeds Art Gallery opening times, how to get there, prices and more

Leeds Art Gallery is one of the most important galleries in the city and is a major attraction for people across Yorkshire.

Located on the Headrow in the middle of the city, the gallery has been a cultural hub since opening in 1888.

And it still holds a huge amount of 20th century art for the public to see, as well as having more modern collections.

It's also linked to the nearby Leeds Central Library and the Henry Moore Institute.

When is the gallery open?

The gallery is open every day except for Mondays.

It’s open from 10am to 5pm Tuesday to Saturday and from 11am until 3pm on Sundays.

How do you get there?

The gallery can be accessed by car and public transport.

Visitors getting to the centre by bus are advised to go to the city centre bus station - it’s a 15 minute walk from the galler.

It’s also a ten minute walk from Leeds Railway Station.

Drivers have a number of parking options in the city centre, with metered parking on nearby Cookridge Street.

The nearest secure parking is in Woodhouse Lane, The Light, Merrion Centre and Rose Bowl car parks.

How much does it cost?

Entrance to the permanent exhibitions at the gallery is free - but some of the temporary exhibitions are charged.

The gallery has a souvenir shop as well as the Tiled Hall Cafe.

And visitors can also get free wifi access in the building.

As well as this the gallery has conference space, meeting rooms, baby change and toilets.
