Leeds Apprentice star Joanna Jarjue slammed by Dr Hilary on GMB after saying she doesn't need the vaccine

Former Apprentice star Joanna Jarjue has been branded "blinkered" by Dr Hilary during a debate around the coronavirus vaccine on Good Morning Britain this morning.

Social Commentator Joanna from Leeds says the focus should be on giving the vaccine to other countries "instead of imposing rules on under 30s."

She says that if someone doesn't want to do something, it's their choice.

Joanna, who appeared on series 13 of The Apprentice, said: "A small section of society don't want to get vaccinated and they're wanting to alienate them for that.

"I actually think the priorities are completely wrong, our main problem at the moment is the Indian variant, and I would much rather that somebody who is over 60 in India get the vaccine at the moment."

General practitioner, presenter and writer, Dr Hilary Jones hit back: "I think she's blinkered, she's out of date already there were twelve deaths yesterday not zero - it's gone up following the Bank Holiday.

"We are seeing increasing numbers of cases, we're seeing hospitalisations, we're still seeing people very seriously ill and children being admitted to hospital by the rate of 100 a week with long covid."

And it seems Dr Hilary is not the only one who disagrees with Joanna.

Her comments have provoked fury from social media users who have branded her “irresponsible”.

One person posted: "I wonder if the closing comments from @DrHilaryJones helped @joannajarjue with the point that those in this country who don't want a jab might be in a group who create a vaccine bypass mutation that she's so worried about in 'other' countries."

A second added: "Another reality TV star rolled out to discuss public health policy with no relevant background experience AND THEN promotes behaviour that could lead to further variants which may be increasingly vaccine resistant. Focus on responsibility to the community!"

A third penned: "The vaccine debate often boils down to one thing. If you're not medically qualified, don't do what @joannajarjue is doing. Don't give medical opinion! And anti-vaxxers ALWAYS say "I'm not an anti-vaxxer".
