Leeds and Aston Villa 'monitoring' Nottingham Forest's Matty Cash

Leeds and Aston Villa are reportedly 'monitoring' Matty Cash as speculation over the defender continues.

The Sheffield Star claim that both Premier League sides are pondering a swoop for the right-back who has been the subject of a £10m bid from Sheffield United.

But that offer was rejected by the Reds and we revealed yesterday how the 23-year-old is not seeking a move away from the City Ground. despite all the attention.

The report says: "United have also tabled a bid, understood to be worth £10m, for Nottingham Forest defender Cash.

"Leeds, Aston Villa and Milan are believed to be monitoring his situation."

Cash enjoyed a stellar season with the Reds last term and has become a player in demand following a series of impressive displays.

He has been linked with numerous clubs so far this summer including Burnley, West Ham and AC Milan.

It is reported that Cash is looking forward to seeing who the club sign this summer and they made a fine start to their summer business today as Jack Colback returned to the club on a permanent deal following his exit from Newcastle United.

That is likely to kickstart a flurry of business at the Reds with the club eager to launch a promotion push next season after seeing their play-off hopes implode on the final day of last season.

A striker is among the list of priorities for boss Sabri Lamouchi who discussed his plans for the club with owner Evangelos Marinakis in Greece earlier this month.
