Leeann Dempster explains Hibs' summer transfer policy as she points to 'careful player trading'

Leeann Dempster has explained Hibs' summer transfer policy, and why she's happy with the window despite coming out of it with a smaller squad.

The Easter Road club completed the signing of Kyle Magennis from St Mirren on deadline day, having already brought in Kevin Nisbet, Drey Wright, Jamie Murphy, Alex Gogic and Dillon Barnes.

And while several players, including Daryl Horgan, Flo Kamberi, Tom James and Adam Jackson, moved on – the squad looks to be in good shape for the upcoming campaign.

Following the closure of the transfer window, Hibs chief Dempster tweeted: "Twitter’s character limit doesn’t let me thank everyone who deserves my gratitude for helping us to this point. Players, staff and supporters have rallied – on the pitch and off it with season tickets, @hfcsupporters donations and a host of other gestures. It's humbling.

"We’ve come out the transfer window with a smaller squad but careful player trading – in and out – has helped us add real quality. As long as supporters are happy, I’m happy. Our priority now is to get our supporters back home to Easter Road."

Hibs return to action against Brora Rangers in the league cup group stages tomorrow night. We'll have the match covered right here on Edinburgh Live.
