Lee Sharp says 'big decisions went against' St Mirren during Celtic Park drubbing

Lee Sharp fears Jim Goodwin might need a new tele after watching the Buddies' Celtic Park horror show from home.

The St Mirren boss was on the phone to stand-ins Sharp and Jamie Langfield throughout Saturday afternoon's mauling.

The match couldn't have gone much worse for the Saints, with Sharp insisting some of the big calls went against his side in Glasgow after suffering a 6-0 defeat at the hands of Celtic.

He told Express Sport: “There was a lot of dialogue with Jim before the game and he was on the phone to Jamie Langfield throughout with things we maybe weren’t seeing.

“He gave us some instructions to be put on to the players.

“He was watching at home and probably throwing things at the telly. He might need to get another couple of tellies.

“But this is a difficult place to come with 11 men and going down to 10 so early made it a lot tougher.

“Any game plan we had went out the window at that point. We had to regroup and try to make things as hard as possible for Celtic.

“Alan should possibly stay on his feet. He doesn’t have to go to ground, but I’ve seen tackles like that given as yellow cards.

"A few moments later, Ryan Christie had one on Ethan Erhahon that was very similar on the far side.

“He wasn’t even booked, so you’re just looking for it to be evened up.

“Big decisions went against us. At 2-0 down we got a goal chalked off that was perfectly fine, onside.

“I’m not saying we would have got anything from the game but, at 2-1, the boys would have got a lift and got a bit more belief.”
