Lee Miller makes Rangers 'fear factor' claim as he rallies Falkirk troops ahead of Betfred Cup tie

Falkirk manager Lee Miller reckons his side can take the game to Rangers when the sides meet in the Betfred Cup later this month.

Miller played up front for the Bairns the last time the two sides met, playing a key role in a dramatic 3-2 victory for Peter Houston's team.

The two sides have had differing fortunes since that Championship clash in 2016, however. Rangers have propelled themselves back into the Premiership, where they currently sit nine points clear of Celtic, while Falkirk have tumbled into League One.

But Miller, now co-manager at The Falkirk Stadium alongside David McCracken, insists his team won't fear the Ibrox side when they travel to Grangemouth on 28 November.

"You want to test yourself against the best teams and it will be a good test for us because they're obviously the in form team in the country just now," Miller told Falkirk TV after the clubs were drawn together.

"A lot of the boys in the squad haven't played against the Old Firm yet so it will be a good test for them.

"Our squad hasn't got that fear factor, they don't fear anybody, they just go out and play. Yes you get nervous, but nervous energy is good going into a game.

"You want that from your players and I'm sure they'll be up for it."
