A rematch between Lee McGregor and Kash Farooq has been agreed - with the fight to take place before the end of February.
The British Boxing Board of Control had ordered McGregor to defend his British bantamweight belt against his fellow Scot and the boxing body have now confirmed that the two fighters have shaken hands on terms.
Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn, who represents Farooq, has been charged with organising the eagerly-anticipated showdown.
A BBBofC statement read: “Lee McGregor v Kash Farooq: Following agreement being reached between the parties, the above contest to be promoted by Eddie Hearn will take place on a date and at a venue to be advised.”
McGregor seized Farooq’s Lonsdale belt and defended his Commonwealth title in a contentious points victory in November 2019 at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow.
The unbeaten 24-year-old, who beat Vincent Legrand on his last outing in August, has since added the European crown to his collection after stopping Karim Gurfi inside the first round in March.
Farooq has also fought three times since, beating Angel Aviles, Alexander Espinoza and Luis Gerardo Castillo, picking up the WBC International title.
