Lee Mack to partner up with Holly Willoughby as new co-host

Lee Mack will join Holly Willoughby to co-host a new survival show on BBC One.

Southport-born Lee will present Wim Hof's Superstar Survival, which puts celebrities through their paces as they tackle 'death defying' challenges, along with This Morning's Holly.

Holly, who is used to co-hosting with TV veteran Phillip Schofield said: "Lee is a favourite in our house because he’s so hilariously funny and I’ve been a fan of Wim for a long time – he’s a genius who’s incredibly passionate about helping others.

"This show is going to be brilliantly entertaining and you never know…you may find out some things that could help you along the way too.”

Wim Hof, who goes by the name The Iceman, is a Dutch motivational speaker and extreme athlete well-known for his ability to endure extreme temperatures.

He has A-list fans ranging from Tom Cruise to Justin Bieber, and David Beckham.

The six-part series will follow a group of soul-searching famous faces as they embark on an “epic adventure of self-improvement.”

The celebrities will take on wild and death-defying challenges in some of Europe’s harshest conditions.

Lee is said to be looking forward to his new gig.

The Not Going Out star said: "My passions in life are Wim Hof, watching ‘This Morning’ in my undies, sub-zero temperatures, looking at celebrities sitting in cold water and free hotels.

"But trying to find a show that combines these has proved tricky. Finally I’ve found one."

Wim Hof's Superstar Survival will launch in 2022.

As well as the main series on BBC One, a sister show that "delves deeper" into the challenges the celebrities face will run on BBC Three.
