Lee Mack in 1% Club 'argument' as contestant interrupts ITV show to complain

Lee Mack jokingly offered a contestant to 'go outside' to settle as dispute, over what they claimed was a rather misleading answer during Saturday night's show, even bringing the show to a halt to make a protest.

The popular quiz programme, which invites viewers to find out if they are among the brightest people in the country, returned slightly earlier than usual this weekend, right after the final Britain's Got Talent audition rounds had wrapped up on ITV. Comedian Lee was once again at the helm as a whole host of members of the public aimed to use their knowledge to win big money.

The number of players is cut by a series of questions throughout the show, with one particular conundrum proving to be the undoing for a lot of them.

The 60% question was 'Which of the following words would fit into this group of words: Tiny, Small, Little. The possible answers were Second, Minute, Hour.

The correct answer was Minute, with 19 people getting it wrong, as Lee reacted: "I think some of you accidentally read it as minute (measure of time)," with one of those players, Nicholas telling Lee: "I thought I had it bang on," having gone for second, thinking that was the smallest amount of time.

Lee replied: "That's quite a good answer. Can we just let him through anyway? No, okay."

The presenter was then stopped in his tracks as a contestant named Hannah put her hand up to get his attention, then telling Lee: "Minute and minute are spelt the same; second is shorter than a minute."

Lee responded: "'I'm not being rude, what do you want me to do about it?" to which Hannah replied: "Well it's wrong."

Standing his ground, Lee told her: "It's not wrong, you've just thought of another answer which is not quite as right." He then joked: "I don't want to sound too aggressive, but do you want to sort this out in the car park? Me and you outside now," as Hannah replied: "Yep, gloves are on!"
