What a start to last night's contest, with three goals in a 17 minute blitz for the Robins. But by the end there will have been more than a few supporters biting their finger nails.
It's now five unbeaten, three wins from four, finally more than two goals scored in a home game again, and just three defeats in 22 Championship games and countless other positives.
Oh, and how about that handy four-point gap back to Middlesbrough in seventh after a third win in three against sides in the top seven of the league currently? That's a rather useful bit of form when you're aiming to finish in the top six.
Here are a few other details from Tuesday evening's pulsating encounter.

Robins resilience
It was another one of those exciting Lee Johnson shoot-outs. Only the story was a little different compared with the trip to Sheffield United recently that also saw five goals.
Another 3-2 win but a bit of resilience needed at the end. In the press box there was some worry that this might be another Sunderland capitulation like last season (Feb 2018: 3-3) when a three goal lead was thrown away.
And there is previous: Derby County away the year before (Feb, 2017: 3-3) when three up, through Matty Taylor and two Tammy Abraham goals.
This time a different outcome. The corner (flag) finally turned through Bristol City's reinvigorated lust for victory and added steel at the back?
Goals finally coming

Since the international break, City have walloped in three goals against the Blades, three against the Baggies, two against Wigan and though just one at Middlesbrough, against the league's best defence, there could easily have been more at the Riverside.
That break of two weeks ago does seem to have had a galvanising effect.
"I always said we’d be a team that grows into the season and it’s an incredible run," said Johnson after the match, his prophecy being realised.
That's now four goals for Andi Weimann in three games as the Austrian revels in a more central role alongside Diedhiou.
And fair play to the head coach, who once again tinkered with the tactics - to go 4-2-2-2 as he explained in his post-match press conference - and got another big win.
With a few more goals in the remaining two home matches this could well be a season to remember for a long time.
Versatile Webster

City's new midfielder - after Lee Johnson pushed him further forward into midfield on Tuesday evening as a defensive anchorman - actually created the most chances for City during the game according to the post-match stats (only Stefan Johansen created more, indeed).
Could this be a new role for him for good?
"He’s a good player and he can play anywhere. Good players can play anywhere," said Johnson on the anchorman role.
Shout for Famara Diedhiou who won the most second balls in the game, but is still missing his goal-scoring touch, and Niclas Eliasson who won the most fouls in the match.
Matty Taylor cameo
As pointed out by others, what a great guy Matty Taylor is - and doing the right thing to take the ball down to the corner flag in the final stages of the match with just a minute to go last night.
He could have attacked goal and possibly set up a chance but some straight-thinking saw the game out.
Team gesture from a team player.
Almost there... Stay on target...
A couple more wins should see Bristol City home and into the play-offs.
In particular that final home game against Derby County: win that and it would push the Rams out of the play-off picture and likely cement City in leither fifth or sixth.
While Villa away looks tricky given recent form on the road anything could happen, and a mere point would be excellent in keeping hold of fifth place.
Unless anyone out there prefers Leeds/Sheffield United in the play-offs. Potentiallly. Nah, we're not daring to think about it yet either...
