Lee Johnson's Hibernian set to sign highly-rated Bristol City prospect Reuben McAllister

Highly-rated Bristol City prospect Reuben McAllister is set for a reunion with father Jamie at Scottish Premiership club Hibernian.

Hibs, managed by former Robins boss Lee Johnson, are set to sign the 16-year-old midfielder on a deal until 2025 for a six-figure fee. The deal, which includes a sell-on clause, was first revealed by Fabrizo Romano and Bristol Live understands the report to be correct, with an announcement due soon.

McAllister was reportedly coveted by Premier League clubs, with Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion and Leicester City all linked earlier in the summer. Celtic and Rangers were said to be in the frame, too.

But his relationship with Johnson, who was assisted by McAllister senior at Ashton Gate and has taken his former Robins teammate with him to be part of his coaching staff at Easter Road, has proved pivotal in deciding his future.

McAllister made a strong impression in City's academy, featuring for the under-23s side against Queens Park Rangers at Ashton Gate in October despite being the youngest player involved by several years.

He was on a two-year scholarship deal in BS3, but he has decided his future lies elsewhere.
