Lee Johnson makes two changes to last league line-up - Rotherham United vs Sunderland team news

Elliot Embleton returned to Sunderland's starting line-up at Rotherham United.

The midfielder was available again after serving a three-match suspension and Lee Johnson restored him to the Black Cats' side in place of Alex Pritchard, who has been playing through the pain of a neck injury recently and was left out of the matchday 18 altogether today.

Johnson had made a raft of changes for the midweek Carabao Cup win at QPR, but his team against the Millers looked more like the one that began against Charlton Athletic last weekend.

Embleton's inclusion was one of two changes to the side against the Addicks, the other seeing Leon Dajaku start in place of Aiden O'Brien, with the latter dropping to the bench.

Rotherham boss Paul Warne also made multiple changes in midweek, in his case to the side that won in the EFL Trophy.

But he reverted to the side that began last weekend's league win at MK Dons, with the exception of one enforced change.

On-loan Sunderland striker Will Grigg was ineligible to face his parent club, so Freddie Ladapo came into the side.
