Lee Johnson makes four changes to his Bristol City team for the visit of Reading FC

Lee Johnson shuffled his pack for the visit of Reading to Ashton Gate with the Bristol City head coach prioritising width and power against the struggling Royals.

Famara Diedhiou has been reinstated in attack and to complement , wingers Niclas Eliasson and Callum O'Dowda were selected.

All three have been in and out of the side over recent weeks but Johnson clearly plans to play on the front foot and attack a Reading side who have lost their last five matches.

The other change was a surprise one with in-form full-back Jack Hunt replaced by Portuguese Under-21 international Pedro Pereira. Hunt is named among the substitutes so the decision must be a tactical one.

Along with Hunt and Semenyo, playmaker Kasey Palmer drops to the bench while Nathan Baker doesn't even make the matchday 18.

Baker suffered a calf strain in the previous home game against Swansea but was still declared fit to play against Preston and Brentford.

Attacking midfielder Sammie Szmodics also returns to the squad having missed the last two matches with a calf injury himself.

It's unclear exactly what formation City will line up in but with two centre-backs in Ashley Williams and Tommy Rowe and the addition of wingers it implies a 4-4-2.

Bristol City (4-4-2, expected): Dan Bentley; Pedro Pereira, Taylor Moore, Ashley Williams, Tommy Rowe; Niclas Eliasson, Josh Brownhill, Han-Noah Massengo, Callum O'Dowda; Andi Weimann, Famara Diedhiou
