Lee Grace not expected to leave Shamrock Rovers despite English interest

Shamrock Rovers have no plans to sell Lee Grace this summer despite interest from England.

Mirror Sport understands the Tipperary man has attracted attention from across the water this week- although the Hoops insist no offer has been tabled.

Centre-back Grace has arguably been Rovers most consistent performer this season and is seen as vital to their title ambitions.

But regardless of Grace’s immediate future, the Hoops could still launch a summer swoop for UCD’s rising star Liam Scales.

Dundalk are also admirers, although they are keen to re-sign their former ace defender Andy Boyle.

Scales, who is in the Ireland squad for the Toulon Tournament - recently had a trial with Manchester City’s Under-23s.

Meanwhile, Rovers are still talking to fellow Irish Under-21 Conor Masterson following his release from Liverpool, but the Celbridge lad will have offers in England.

And while striker David McMillan - on loan at Hamilton from St Johnstone - has been on the Hoops radar for some time, it is understood a move is unlikely.
