Lee Dixon has warned Leeds United about their second season in the Premier League.
The Whites have exceeded all realistic expectations during the 2020/21 campaign following their promotion from the Championship.
Marcelo Bielsa and his players are on course for a top half finish, with some suggesting a late push for European football is still on the cards.
Leeds have gone toe-to-toe with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United in recent weeks - coming out of those four games unbeaten before Brighton ended a six-match run without defeat by seeing off Leeds on Saturday.
However, former Arsenal full-back Dixon has warned Bielsa that his side must guard against any kind of compliancy if they are to continue their rise next season.
“I think their understanding of how he wants them to play (has improved)," he said on Amazon Prime Video.
"It’s different playing in the Championship and getting promoted, then coming into the Premier League - it’s a totally different kind of football and what’s needed from individuals and the way the team plays.
"It will be interesting to see the long-term because next season is a massive season for them.
"Of course they can finish really high up in the Premier League and they’ve had a wonderful season, scored 50, conceded 50, they’re great to watch and everyone loves watching them.
"Next season, they’ve got to go again and they need to go harder than they have done this season.
"All of a sudden, teams know what you’re going to do, it’s similar to Sheffield United, they’ve got to keep that work ethic and then go again.
"I’ve been in a dressing room that was authoritarian with George Graham and when you’re winning things, it’s great, but when things just start to dip a little bit, people are looking over their shoulder.
"Can he go again and get the same out of this player? Interesting.”
