Xiamen: Lee Solar captured her maiden China LPGA Tour title yesterday, posting a final round 70 to win the Orient Masters by two strokes in Fujian province.
Clinging to a one-shot lead going into the final round at Orient Xiamen Golf and Country Club, the South Korean overcame a bogey-bogey start to finish on seven-under 209.
Taiwan's Huang-ching was runner-up after a 69, while Thailand's Renuka Suksuksont (72) and Korean Na Hee-Won (70) were joint third on 212.
China's Yin Ruoning emerged as the top amateur. The 16-year-old closed with a 72 to finish joint fifth on 213.
With playing partner Renuka making birdie at the first hole, Lee quickly fell out of the lead after answering with a bogey five for a two-shot swing. Lee then made a bogey at the second hole to fall three shots back.
After making par at the third, Lee lifted her game magnificently that saw her register five birdies over the next seven holes to get to eight under. She then parred holes 11 to 17 before making a bogey five at the last.
"I did feel nervous and that made me miss [par] the first two holes. After a quick adjustment I was able to calm down and focus on my game," said Lee.
