Lee Burge the shootout hero, Ross Stewart a handful - Sunderland player ratings

Sunderland won a dramatic penalty shootout against QPR to reach the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

After 90 minutes, the game ended goalless at Loftus Road - although the hosts will feel hard-done by after seeing what looked like a perfectly good goal from substitute Charlie Austin chalked off for offside.

But the game went to penalties and while Sunderland kept their heads to convert all three of their spot-kicks, QPR only converted one of their four - with one saved and two fired over the bar.
